Vacation from Vacation!

Do you ever get home from vacation and feel so tired and exhausted that you feel like you need a vacation from your vacation? Well we decided we needed that. So we booked a trip to Monterey before we made the trek back to Utah.
Monday morning after Christmas we left for Monterey. Jason had never been before!! I grew up going with my family and I love that place.
We started at the Aquarium, because you can't go to Monterey without going to the aquarium. It was fairly crowded because of Christmas Break and all, but we got our fill and enjoyed the otters the most of course.

We had lunch at The Fish Hopper, thanks to Jordan and Magels for the recommendation.
It was delicious! The clam chowder was the best I've ever had! And my view wasn't bad either :)

It couldn't have been more beautiful while we were there. It was perfect.

This was just a short walk from our cottage.

We spent one day in Carmel and it was the CUTEST! I couldn't stop telling Jason how much I loved the quaint little town.

For dinner we both wanted Italian food REAL bad. There were two restaurants we {I} couldn't decide between. We decided on a restaurant called Cibo Ristorante Italiano. And it was a great choice. They had live Jazz music, and the food was just what we were looking for. And we got a free appetizer for checking in on Yelp ;)
A relaxing few days on the coast eating incredible food was just what we needed.

But wait!! Our trip isn't over yet!
We took a pit stop in St. George on our way home to see Mark. He had to work some of the time, so we spent a lot of time watching HGTV. But we also got out of the house and explored Snow Canyon National Park. And I'm SO glad we did! It was beautiful!!

We really ended our vacation with a lunch date with Mark and Dave.

We had the best Christmas break!
Family times are the best of times.
